ICANN has validated some 300 applications for the creation of new top-level domain names, including the Swiss Confederation's application for the".swiss" domain.

No details, no date on the implementation of the new domain name but only the approval of the international institution. DETEC (Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications) will probably soon communicate the timetable for commercialization in 2014.
